Understanding the business is part of the technical work.
To look after a system properly, you need to know what it supports: who depends on the business software, when changes can be made, which permissions are needed and what happens if a server or connection becomes unavailable.
I start with this context and connect it to the technical findings. Sometimes the solution is a small, targeted change. Sometimes it takes a process involving several systems and suppliers. In both cases, the aim is to move forward with a clear understanding of the need and the actions required.
Responsibility throughout the process
I handle operational tasks, assess alternatives and support projects. When the work involves a software supplier or an external specialist, I coordinate the parties, clarify responsibilities and make sure the information needed for follow-up is retained.
The client receives an explanation of the situation, the actions taken and the matters that still require a decision or further checks.
Documentation as part of the service
A network map, system inventory, change record and licensing details are tools for everyday work. They help establish what is in place, revisit previous decisions and transfer knowledge in an orderly way.
In the documentation, I distinguish between verified information, historical information and details that still need to be completed.
Practical use of AI
I use AI tools for technical research, analysis, documentation and building supporting tools. Before using their output, I check it against the available information and operational context. These tools support the work; professional decisions remain my responsibility.
I define and improve digital processes and use AI tools to create questionnaires, reports and alerts.
